This month’s Art For Afya event scheduled for wednesday the 20th from 7:30pm at Mwenda’s is promising to be the highlight of the new year. Following the positive turn out in the last event, we have secured the courtyard in Utalii House, invested in concert standard sound and lined up a variety of artists such as solo rocker Gregory Limbe, R&B crooners Elani, benga maestro Dan Chizi and balladeers Sauti Sol for live performances that will leave you yearning for more.
In addition to this, the audience will be entertained with the poetical sounds of Mkamzee Mwatela and Joed besides having the chance to purchase some art from our art gallery. Charges are 500 shillings which entitles you to a free drink with the proceeds going towards the Foundation programmes.
The Naivasha Deworming Excercise held on 13th January was a roaring success with the volunteer team reaching approximately 1,000 school-going children less one young boy who adamantly refused to take the medicine despite the hearfelt entreaties of our Children’s Goodwill Ambassador Mkamzee Mwatela. That aside, three schools now have a reason to smile as they look forward to a worm-free 2010.
